Pneumatic Filters

Pneumatic filters ensure the proper functioning of pneumatic systems by eliminating contaminants such as water and oil vapor from compressed air. Some filters use a 'media' to capture particles while allowing air to pass through, whereas others utilize membranes that permit only air to flow. These filters are commonly paired with pneumatic air lubricators.

Pneumatic filters are essential components that help prevent the failure of pneumatic equipment. The frequency of maintenance depends on the volume of debris filtered. A noticeable pressure drop often indicates that the filter requires cleaning. However, certain parts like the service indicator and the automatic or manual drain should not be serviced.

What are pneumatic filters used for?

To ensure pneumatic systems operate efficiently, compressed air must be clean and free from water and particulates. Pneumatic filters help by removing contaminants and extending the life of components.

Primary filters

Primary filters safeguard pneumatic equipment from damage caused by contaminants like dirt particles, tiny water droplets, or aerosols. They can filter out particles as small as five micrometers.

Secondary filters

Secondary filters are capable of trapping particles as small as 50 nanometers, effectively removing fumes, odors, moisture, oils, and other extremely fine particles from the air stream.
