Why Are Pneumatic Soft-Start Valves Important?
Industrial pneumatic systems can be complex, often featuring numerous air cylinders and actuators operating at different speeds and times. For maintenance or repair work, all compressed air must be fully exhausted from machinery, airlines, valves, and cylinders to ensure engineer safety.
The industrial air mains typically operate at pressures of 100 psi or higher. It is crucial that this high-pressure air is not introduced abruptly. Allowing full volume and pressure immediately could cause serious, costly damage.
How Does a Pneumatic Soft-Start Valve Work?
Soft-start valves function by gradually opening the airflow, slowly admitting a controlled amount of compressed air into the system. This gradual pressure increase ensures that actuators reach their full operating pressure safely. Once the system reaches a set threshold pressure, the valve opens fully to allow normal full-pressure operation.
