How does a manifold function?

Manifolds act as a central connection point for a single air supply shared among all valves. Pneumatic fittings or connectors are threaded into the manifold's ports. The pneumatic tubing or airline is then connected to the other end of the fitting and linked to the valve.

Types of Manifolds

Manifolds come in various pressure ratings, port thread connections, and station counts. While they are commonly base mounted, they can also be installed on a DIN Rail. Manifolds fall into two primary categories: single-piece design and modular block design.

Single-piece manifolds

This type is the most widely used in industry today. Single-piece manifold bases are metal blocks, typically made from aluminum, steel, or cast metal, that come pre-drilled. They offer minimal leakage, making them well suited for high-pressure settings.

Modular manifolds

Modular manifolds offer greater flexibility, as each base holds only one valve. This design allows for easy system expansion or reduction and supports the use of various valve sizes within the same setup.
